Allowing multiple users to view a common system in Sunny Portal can easily be done during initial commissioning or at a later date. Follow along with the Solar Academy as both methods are demonstrated in our latest Tech Tip.

I have three SMA SB4000TL-US-22 inverters. I’m interested in having the WebConnect modules installed. Is this a user installable item. Do I have to assign each one a static IP address, or will it pull from DHCP? Do I just see each inverter, or does the software (site) show an aggregate view of them as a single unit?

    Thank you.

      Hi Andrew,

While installing the Webconnect in each inverter is something that can be done by the user, we always recommend having a professional perform the install since the inverters will need to be powered down and have the lower lids removed and there is a risk of injury involved. Should you still want to perform the install yourself, we have many videos covering how its done, registering the inverters on Sunny Portal (which will use DHCP) and other topics like checking for internet connectivity and plant monitoring available here.

Once your system is registered within Sunny Portal, you’ll be able to view both the overall performance and information and view that of each inverter individually. Given what you’re looking for, Webconnect will be an ideal solution for your system communication.

      Best,
      Justin
