SMA America and Aurora Solar are partnering to bring you a Greentech Media webinar on August 31 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Speakers include SMA America Director of Marketing Brad Dore, SMA America Senior Technical Training Mike Mahon, and Aurora Solar Chief Operating Officer Samuel Adeyemo.
Residential installers are now eligible to participate in a new SMA rebate program called Power+ Payday. Installers can receive a $50 pre-paid reward card for each Power+ Solution that is installed and registered in Sunny Portal between August 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
With global operations, SMA and its employees have the privilege of helping to shape the future of energy all over the world. And with headquarters in Rocklin, California – just outside the state’s capital city of Sacramento – SMA America is front and center to where state energy policy is created.
On Wednesday, July 12, SMA will host a special event for solar professionals, particularly those focused on utility-scale solar and storage.
The Utility-scale Storage & PV Forum will highlight cutting-edge solutions for utility-scale projects, and will address use cases for storage as well as challenges and solutions for high-penetration PV networks. The program will include a wide-range of expertise presented from SMA and special guest Siemens Energy Management Solutions.
At the forum, attendees will also learn more about SMA’s new large-scale storage solution, the Sunny Central Storage 2500-EV-US. The Sunny Central Storage 2500-EV-US is SMA’s power conversion system for large-scale battery storage systems. These systems enable the integration of large amounts of intermittent renewable energy into the utility grid while maintaining grid stability. Sunny Central Storage is compatible with different types of leading battery technologies.
The event will take place at the Hotel Zetta in San Francisco from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In addition to educational sessions, the event will provide valuable industry networking. Seats are limited, and early registration is encouraged. We hope to see you there!
The crowd cheered in Munich! SMA once again won the Intersolar Award this year. The jury was impressed by the new design and easy handling of the Sunny Tripower CORE 1.
This year, Earth Day is celebrated around the world on Saturday, April 22. On this day and every day, SMA honors Mother Earth and the abundance of resources the planet provides to us.
From helping farms and businesses offset their electricity costs to installing enough solar power in North America to power 2 million homes, SMA is grateful to play a small role in developing clean energy that respects and values our environment.
We believe that harnessing the power of the sun will protect the resources we have here on earth to create a greener, more sustainable way of life that will preserve our planet for years to come.
Many of our installation partners and Authorized Distributors are excited about the game-changing Power+ Solution. Hopefully, many of you have even received some training via a Solar Academy webinar, or have watched our tech tips on how to install it.
But how do you explain the benefits of the Power+ Solution to homeowners who may not immediately understand it – or perhaps aren’t even sure what an inverter does? Rather than focusing on technical information, here are a few tips that may help you explain why SMA’s Power+ Solution is the best choice for residential PV systems.
- Highlight SMA’s proven experience as a #1 global inverter brand, sharing that SMA has 35 years of field-proven experience.
- Talk about the safety and reliability of the Power+ Solution, including how our solution uses fewer components than competitor solutions, meaning there will be less maintenance involved.
- SMA’s Power+ Solution produces more power than its competition. This means more savings on power bills for homeowners!
- Share information about Sunny Portal, our free, mobile-friendly tool that will help homeowners track their system’s performance and ROI.
- Spotlight SMA as a future-proof choice. With SMA’s continued commitment to developing home energy management technology and exciting partnerships with leading battery brands, homeowners can count on SMA technology as they equip their home to be a smart home of the future.
Each of these is highlighted in our special brochure just for homeowners. This is a great tool for you to use when you are talking to homeowners about their residential PV project. To access the brochure, simply click here or scroll down to the bottom of the Power+ Solution page. There, you’ll see a red icon labeled with Download the Power+ Solution brochure for homeowners.
We encourage you to browse our website for additional resources as well, and come back to our blog regularly for more helpful tips and tools.
Last year was a big year for energy storage. According to a recent GTM Research report, U.S. energy storage installations grew by 100 percent. This year the trend is expected to continue, with more and more energy storage systems – especially long-duration systems – continuing to be installed.
SMA is introducing innovative concepts for megawatt-class storage systems as it prepares for a future when storage systems will play an even larger role in PV power plants and utility grids. SMA’s large-scale storage concept is the solution for grid-bound integration, with or without a PV system.
To take a deeper look at current market developments and showcase its large-scale storage solution, SMA will host the Large-Scale Storage Day Tuesday, April 25, at SMA headquarters in Niestetal, Germany.
The Large-Scale Storage Day is a great opportunity to learn about megawatt-class storage, exchange ideas with experts and tour the SMA Test Center and Sunny Central production facilities for a behind-the-scenes look at SMA’s quality standards.
Guest lectures will discuss regulations and battery storage applications, intelligent generation systems, grid management and SMA’s full-service offerings.

More is expected of them than of others: SMA solar inverters must work perfectly for many years. No matter in which country, in which climate, or to which power network they are connected.
